...Back To Virginia

Reed Family Farm, Nellysford VA
Final Tripometer 9830 miles
We stayed in Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio on July 29 and 30. The local area was flush with campgrounds, rental cabins and resorts. It looks like a super popular summer retreat with lots of hiking and biking in the hills as well as lakes for fishing and boating. We hiked Cantwell Cliffs which is a forest trail filled with interesting cliff bands and old Hemlock stands.
Our original plan was to make a long drive home on the last day of the trip but we made a last minute change to the itinerary and decided to break up that drive. So we left a day early from Hocking Hills and drove to one of our favorite Virginia campgrounds — Douthat State Park. In our less than 24 hours stay there we fit in a hike, a couple bike rides and a lazy afternoon swimming in the lake.
We are now back home on the farm and starting to unpack the camper — a process we plan to take a step at a time over the course of a few days. After all, we lived in Koko for a quarter of the year!
In August, Koko will first head to a local trailer service shop in Staunton VA for a 10,000 mile service to the axle and bearings. Later in the month we plan to take her to a Vintage Airstream specialist in Asheville NC where we will have the frame fully inspected and address a few other maintenance issues.
