Easy Livin'

Friday July 19 Spearfish, South Dakota

tripometer - 7872

When you’re on the road for months, sometimes you’re in full “explore the sites mode” and sometimes you just want to “be and exist” in the new place you’ve landed.  The latter is how we’ve been feeling this week. I'm pleased to say I am well rested and back to 100% health.

We could have hit Deadwood and seen the graves of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, driven to nearby Sturgis where the biker rally happens every August, viewed Mt. Rushmore, visited Custer State Park and Devils Tower.

Instead we spent lots of time at camp, reading, fixing good food, drinking growlers of local beer, drinking local coffee in the mornings vended out of a VW camper parked next to the pool, biking all over the town on the Spearfish Rec Path, visiting the big local playground daily, mountain biking the Black Hills, and attending the local summer music series in City Park on Wednesday with live bluegrass, food, beer and wine vendors.

local kids walking upstream through the neighborhood to tube a few blocks in Spearfish Creek...rinse...repeat

Our camp rabbit who was very relaxed and would hang out mere feet away from us for hours on end.
